Seascapes & Villages
Wednesday, June 16 - Tuesday, June 29, 2004
Click here to see a gallery of Ireland images

The rugged southwestern coast of Ireland will function as our textural palette with the magnificent old seaport villages, the translucent lakes of the Kerry region and the changing light and atmosphere on the spectacular seascapes on the Dingle Peninsula with it’s fabled past, colorful stone houses and pubs on every corner. Our major base of the workshop will be the Village of Dingle on the special Dingle Peninsula with the harshly beautiful land and seascapes and friendly towns people. Our final base will be in Doolin, well positioned to absorb the scenery of County Clare, the Burren, Cliffs of Moher and castles. A final swing through the heart of Ireland with a Palladian home stay and the Rock of Cashel will conclude with a Dublin pub walk while staying in an upscale Georgian House!

DAILY ROUTINE

We are basically going to paint as much as possible each day given our locations and the weather conditions. There are alternatives each day and we will stay warm and dry with the coach nearby. After our daily breakfast, we will have a full day of exploration and an overload of imagery to deal with. Evenings will consist of exploring our local village bases before and after dinner in addition to hotel base.

WORKSHOP DEMANDS

There are no expectations in terms of the numbers of works one is expected to complete, nor the size of the work. Most of the workshop will be on flat ground with some stairs and inclines not required as part of the painting sites Our experienced driver will be nearby at all times.

FOOD

The groups will eat together at most meals experiencing the local cuisine. We will not be a part of a typical tour package and the cook on Mallorca will meet your dietary needs. There will be four open dinners in cities.
